If Eli Broad really cared about bettering people’s lives and sharing his art with the masses he would put his new museum in the middle of South L.A. A museum there would have a much greater impact on the people of that community then more affluent cities of Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. Frankly, a museum in the two primary choices is like iceing on the cake. A museum in a poorer community would be the cake both culturally and economically.
The House That Mickey Built: Walt Disney's Estate in Los Feliz
For all of you recommending the creation of a Disney Museum, it already exists: The Walt Disney Family Museum is located at The Presidio in San Francisco. Both incredible and somewhat overwhelming in its detail, I suspect it’s in San Francisco because one or more Disney family members live across the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin County. http://disney.go.com/disneyatoz/familymuseum/museum/galleries.html
$3 Million Fails to Get Women to Battery Park City
Come on people. Women are people too. They deserve their own museum. Just like other beings. I believe the American Museum of Marble Champions has raised more money than this boondoggle.
I like the $121,000 fund raising effort that garnered $22,600. Money well spent. And some other CEO dude from the Statue of Liberty Ellis Island Foundation got $54,000 to consult on the fund raising and raised nada, zip, not a fucking dime. I could work for those wages.
It’s about time there was a museum of men, actually several museums, Museum of white men, Museum of yellow men, Museum of red men, Museum of other men.
How Super Bowl LIII visitors can explore Atlanta like locals
I can’t believe I’m biting here…have you not left your house since 1912? The restaurant scene alone deserves it’s own top 50 list.
Next time you have out of town guests, give them list this and you won’t see them for a week.
Fernbank Museum of Natural History
Michael C Carlos Museum
National Civil Rights Museum
High Museum of Art
College Football Hall of Fame
Atlanta History Museum
King Center
World of Coca-Cola
Georgia Aquarium
Obviously, this list does not even scratch the surface of the actual interesting places and things to see in town.
They should just move the entire museum to a new location like downtown or along Wilshire or some other high-density neighborhood. It seems awkward for a museum like this anyway to be located on the suburbia of the Westside. This would make more sense along Museum row thats more accesbile by public transportation so tourists, abd perhaps the disenfranchised groups represented at the museum, can actually gain access to the wealth of informationt his museum has to give. Wow, bad syntax..need coffee.
The Academy Movie Museum On the Miracle Mile is Happening as Long as It's Not Killed By a Lawsuit
I think we definitely need a movie museum. But I think spacing out all the LA attractions is wiser. Why put a museum next to a museum? I guess if you’re building a museum complex. But its this Globedome cinemaplex that really isn’t needed. Sure..the museum should have a screening room. Like the DGA on Sunset…but a multiplex? Not needed. The globe is hideous and I dont advocate slicing off the end of the historic MayCo building just to build this snowglobe.
