Grady high schoolers to rally for ‘complete streets’ on anniversary of student’s death
Just please tell me where I can see a tunnel on the maps of the Beltline? Then tell me how much it will cost to tunnel under the rail yard. I have a freeway cap in front of the capitol, as well the "Stitch"….lol! It will be 30-40 years of planning just like rail in Ga…….
Interesting that not one of the fantasy BART maps have a line going to the San Mateo coast. I guess the mountains are just too daunting, but it seems to me that a line could break off between Daly City and Colma, with stops at Serramonte, Edgemar/Pacific Manor, Sharp Park, Vallemar, Linda Mar, Montara/Moss Beach, El Granada and Half Moon Bay
Evolution of downtown’s Department Building continues with new restaurant lease
Nah, google maps definitely lists 207 Peachtree as the building with Hooter’s and the photograph in the article is that building as well. There was another article a couple months ago about the new renovations on this building. Hard Rock is across the street.
Sean’s photo implies the new restaurant would be on the Andrew Young frontage, but I’m not really sure how that would work with the current configuration.
It shouldn’t shock anyone that people decide to drive (or take Uber/Lyft) to their final destination when it’s difficult to get a place to live near a station and there aren’t good first-mile options for actually getting to the station.
Rail line could ferry riders through Sepulveda Pass in 15 minutes, Metro says
Agree on #3, although if they do make the Expo connection at Bundy you will eliminate some of this problem. However, for the others:
1. The northern end is the Van Nuys Metrolink/Amtrak station and another station is the Orange Line so there are many other ways to get to the Line here. The Valley just doesn’t have a Westwood, or Century City or anything approaching that.
2. There is expected to be a stop on the UCLA campus. See the maps.
4. How can you determine this?
5. Option 3 has aerial until going under the mountains. Probably my favorite option, although the Valley will likely sue to stop this. Also, a tunnel under the mountains is a lot less expensive than building one under Wilshire or some other City street where you have to build a ton of super expensive stations and deal with all sorts of utility relocations and other problems.
