25 years after ‘Speed,’ can LA get its buses moving again?
Start by giving all of Metro’s Rapid buses dedicated lanes. It would make them actually rapid (instead of merely rapid in name). It would also be a pretty great network (see map). Paint the bus lanes red — like the Rapid buses. Ticket motorists who drive or park in them. It’s not actually that difficult.
Modern home in Reynoldstown proclaimed ‘wonderful’ for $489K
The fence, which looks a few weeks old, was built abutting the tree (complete with silly free floating insert), as opposed to around it, not sure what in the world you thought I was suggesting. And you can see plainly from the listing photos and street view that the other rear tree poses a risk to the home.
Staten Island’s Bay Street rezoning clears major City Council hurdle
It’s nice that there will ( I hope) be a new Cromwell Center and an improved Lyons Pool, and more school seats, but our Borough President is correct, this is not enough.
My guess is that most people who read this site have not travelled on Bay Street. I would say take a look at Google Maps and see what it is like.
From Grant Street to its end at Fort Wadsworth, Bay Street is a two lane road with some places able to just barely handle a parking lane. Vehicles, including the S51 bus, creep along most of this road during most of the day and into most evenings.
Without some sort of major infrastructure improvements to both Bay Street and Front Street (which runs parallel for some of that stretch), adding all these people is going create absolute gridlock along much of the corridor.
In Little Italy, a loft with bold concrete ceilings asks $324K
Go to google maps and pull back a bit, label says Little Italy. With Pilsen below the tracks between 15th and 16th. Not saying that it is right, but probably where it is coming from.
Castleberry Hill bar owner irked by plan to install parking meters outside business
NVM after looking at the property on google maps, it’s pretty clear this guy just wants free stuff. He should workout a deal with the owner of the parking lot that surrounds his building. The city can do what they want.
Initiative repurposes illegally dumped tires as playground ‘crumb’ for new DeKalb park
The swap is horrible for citizens of DeKalb. Check out Facebook page Save Intrenchment Park or http://www.savetheoldatlantaprisonfarm.org/maps
and take a tour of the land Blackhall wants. It’s gorgeous! Lots of old growth trees, trails, lake and they want to trade for this tire-laden clear cut property.
Check out the street view on Google maps. Those are some gorgeous 1930’s home. Absolutely gorgeous. So sad this entire block/area hasn’t been renovated. Not familiar with Detroit but see it’s only 14 minutes from downtown. This had to have been a pricey neighborhood 50 years ago but with the depopulation of Detroit looks like this isn’t going to happen.
Rehab with same footprint no could easily been done for 80K in non union Atlanta pricing so guessing t$100k in Detroit
