Open Thread: MARTA might rename five train stations. Suggestions?
I agree that if developer wants their name on a station, they pay a yearly fee plus maintenance of the station. But the boundary of Grove Park is not ON Bankhead station, but it is close enough to be named it. LOL @ using a real estate website for accurate mapping data. City of Atlanta Dept of City Planning has a GIS office for that.

That is because part of the corporate sponsorship of stations, would include the cost to change the name of signs, maps, etc. While corporate sponsorship of stadiums/arenas do not pay for changing the name of stations. Keep it simple and just call it Stadium Station, then.
LA tests wavy bike barrier to protect cyclists from passing cars
Hey Ken,
Allow me to encourage you to take a look at Venice Blvd and the surrounding areas from Venice/Vermont down Venice/La Cienega and see if you can come up with a better cycling route than using Venice Blvd. Take a couple minutes and really look at this map and you’ll see those "quite residential" streets abruptly disappear or simply don’t exist in that area. And for the few that do exist, good luck crossing any major street without a stoplight.
That corrugated garage door and the space marked "garage" on the floorplan behind it are apparently only aspirational. The ramp down to that garage door is blocked by bollards, and, I also suspect, the degree of incline in that driveway may not be to code (or something) — or even functional, practically speaking. And then there’s the problem of no curb cut (permission for which must come from the city, not from one’s heart’s desire, or architect or general contractor).
And, no, the design is obviously not for decoration. It’s just an all-around fail.
Chicago’s new demographics: ‘A third San Francisco, two-thirds Detroit’
If you want to get a feel of how different Chicago and Detroit are I suggest you do what I just did. Go to Google Maps, type in the city name, switch to the satellite view, step closer in and start panning around. Save yourself some time and scan only the south side of Chicago where the city most resembles Detroit. Come back and tell us what you’ve found.
These provide a good picture of what you describe, and to my mind put the data somewhere between his pithy headline of "2/3 Detroit" and your approximation of 1/3 middle class.
