Recently released numbers by Airbnb show that bar owners, ticket scalpers, and t-shirt vendors weren’t the only Chicagoans benefitting financially from the Cubs’ first World Series appearance in over 70 years.
Festivities will start on Addison Avenue in Wrigleyville, buzz down Michigan Avenue’s Magnificent Mile, and finish on Chicago’s "front yard" in Grant Park for a spectacular rally exactly 108 years in the making.
The long-discussed hotel slated for the northwest corner of Clark and Addison across from Wrigley Field has been rechristened Hotel Zachary in honor of the ballpark’s architect Zachary Taylor Davis. The hotel's previous retro design has also changed.
The plan will incorporate a partially completed, four-story stone-clad building and a new five-story construction sporting an industrial aesthetic of glass, metal, and brick. The hotel will feature a rooftop terrace and 3,800 square feet of retail.
The two-bed, two-and-half bath condo is a relative bargain compared to some cookie-cutter new constructions found throughout the north side neighborhood.
