Chicago’s next supertall tower is officially on its way. The developers behind the 93-story Vista Tower for the Lakeshore East planned community have been given their first construction permit to start drilling caissons deep into the earth.
Residents of downtown's Lakeshore East neighborhood were recently presented with a logistical plan and tentative timetable for the construction of the upcoming Studio Gang- designed tower. The building is poised to become Chicago's third tallest.
According to a recent report, the developer behind the planned 95-story, Studio Gang-designed Vista Tower has confirmed that no less than 110 of the Vista’s 406 ultra-luxury condominiums are now under contract.
Construction on Studio Gang’s supertall Vista Tower is officially moving forward. An announcement from Mayor Rahm Emanuel is expected today and will reveal plans to break ground on the 1,186-foot tower as early as next month.
The sales center for the upcoming Vista Tower at Lakeshore East has been open for some time now, however, listings for units at the tower have been slowly trickling onto the multiple listing service (MLS).
While it may be another few years before residents will begin filling the upcoming Vista Tower in Lakeshore East, those interested in owning a unit in the luxury skyscraper can now get a virtual look inside the building.
