It's summer y'all! Time to retire those fetid little indoor pools for a few months and drag our frolicking selves into the great outdoors. Some of us are totally enamored of the lake beaches and a few of us even have boats and/or seasonal wilderness escapes (no one here at Curbed, mind you). But for a quick, convenient dip or rigorous fitness routine, nothing beats the neighborhood pool. For this special release, we've compiled all of the Chicago Park District's outdoor public pools in a handy-dandy map. Omitted are the dozen or so temporarily closed locations— due to needed repairs or delayed upkeep. Wherever possible we've thrown in user reviews, mostly for color. Pool sizes vary greatly, with a handful of Olympic size pools and a couple "minis". The minis are just for kids 6-12 with parental supervision, and they're basically glorified puddles. If swim hours seem generous, that's because a healthy chunk is often programmed for summer camp usage and/or team sports. Check your pool's specific schedule at the Chicago Park District Site.
