Chicago is currently experiencing a hotel boom with a flood of exciting new projects in the pipeline, and along with many of the Windy City's upcoming hospitality ventures are exciting restaurant and bars that will accompany their hotel counterparts. We took a look at Chicago's changing hotel landscape and at many of the hospitality projects currently underway and picked five spots that will host a few of the city's newest and most exciting places to get a drink or bite to eat at a hotel.

Nobu Hotel & Restaurant

Chef Nobu Matsuhisa will be the mastermind behind this hotel venture which includes Robert DeNiro as a partner. Nobu won’t open in the West Loop until 2016, but when it does look out for an indoor and outdoor bar in addition to its restaurant.

Three public eateries that include a pizza joint, a chicken-focused restaurant and a craft beer and wine spot are expected at this 35-room boutique slated to open in August in the West Loop. There’ll also be a glass-enclosed rooftop bar, with an 80-foot pool overlooking downtown.

Hotel Indigo Chicago Millennium Park

Chef David Burke is bringing a Midwestern farm-to-fork concept to the hotel's first floor restaurant, basement lounge and wine room. There’ll be a second restaurant too, but the chef in charge of that one hasn’t been announced yet. The hotel will open spring 2015.

Waldorf Astoria Chicago

Chef Brendan Sodikoff, famous for opening the popular Gilt Bar, and having a hand in numerous other successful ventures has been tapped by The Waldorf Astoria to run the five star hotel's food and drink program, including its lauded restaurant, Balsan. The reworked menu at Balsan is expected to be ready sometime this spring.

Virgin Hotel

Though details are still slim about the upcoming Virgin Hotel's amenities and offerings, we do know that the Old Dearborn Bank Building will feature two "ace restaurants", a wine and coffee bar, and a separate swanky rooftop bar and lounge.
