This former welding factory near the edge of West Town and Ukrainian Village may not look too spectacular from the street. But behind its brick and glass-block exterior lies an unexpectedly chic single-family home.

Spanning 4,000 square feet across two levels, the four-bedroom residence features high ceilings, exposed brick walls, hardwood floors, and a surprising amount of natural light—thanks in part to a landscaped courtyard tucked away at the home’s center. There’s also a 1,000-square-foot outdoor deck on the second level and an attached two-car garage.

Listed for $1.325 million, the unique home might be familiar to fans of Chicago Fire. Three episodes of the popular television series were filmed in the space, according to listing agent Emily Smart LeMire of Compass.
