If you’re not up to heading to the parade, you can still catch the action

Already one of the biggest events of the summer, Chicago’s Pride Parade takes on extra importance this year as it marks the 50th anniversary of the uprising following a police raid at New York’s Stonewall Inn in 1969.

Though the party-like atmosphere of Pride is best enjoyed in person, there are still options to watch the festivities—especially if you prefer not to be sandwiched amid the swarm of people that line the route between Uptown and Lakeview.

Sunday’s parade steps off at noon, and Chicago’s ABC 7 will broadcast the action from 1 to 3 p.m. The coverage will also be streamed at abc7chicago.com. If you can’t watch it live, the website will make the broadcast available for later viewing on demand.

Of course, you can always count on social media to offer its own unique perspectives. Though we can’t guarantee you’ll catch the entire parade on your Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, or Instagram feeds, you’ll probably catch some quality candid snippets.
