The massive, mixed-use Lincoln Common development under construction in the heart of Lincoln Park has signed Kohler Waters Spa as its latest retail tenant. Slated to open in June of 2019, the luxurious spa will offer the same high-end hydrotherapy treatments as its award-winning flagship location at the prestigious American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin.
The two-level space will occupy the base of a new six-story office building at 2358 N. Lincoln Avenue, across from the Lincoln Common’s twin 20-story apartment towers and an upcoming Equinox fitness club. The spa will contain 21 treatment rooms as well as hydromassage pools, cool plunge pools, saunas, steam rooms, a co-ed lounge, and an outdoor patio.
The newly announced Lincoln Park location will be the fifth Kohler Waters Spa in the world and second in the Chicago area—joining an location in suburban Burr Ridge. As with all Kohler-branded spas, all plumbing fixtures, tubs, and related hardware will, unsurprisingly, be sourced from Kohler’s Wisconsin factory.
The six-acre, $350 million Lincoln Common project aims to revitalize a broad stretch of Lincoln Avenue vacated by the former Children’s Memorial Hospital complex. The joint venture between developer Dan McCaffery, Hines Interests, Antunovich Associates, and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill officially broke ground in May of 2017.
