After two years, four price reductions, and no takers, a four-floor penthouse condo belonging to former Bears player Brandon Marshall has once again cut its asking price.
The unique residence, perched atop Michigan Avenue’s historic 1898 former Montgomery Ward building, features four bedrooms including a full-floor master suite, multiple private terraces, an ornately detailed great room in the building’s original observation tower, and sweeping views of Millennium Park and the lake.
The wide receiver paid $3.9 million for the home in 2014, according to public records. It hit the market in 2016 asking a cool $6 million and reduced its price multiple times since. At one point the home was even offered as a $20,000 a month rental property. The downtown penthouse returned Monday afternoon seeking $4.45 million.
Marshall, 34, played three seasons for the Chicago Bears from 2012 to 2014 before he was traded to the New York Jets the following year. The athlete moved to the New York Giants in 2017 and recently signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks for the 2018 season.
