Several companies are making sure that transportation isn’t a barrier for folks heading to the polls Tuesday, November 6. In Chicago you can use Divvy, Lyft or Uber for free or heavily discounted rides when you make your way to vote.
Need to double check your polling place address? You can do that on the Chicago Board of Elections’ website.
Divvy
On Tuesday, unlock a Divvy Explorer Pass using the code VOTE18 in the app or at the bike share station. The code is valid for unlimited three-hour trips in a 24-hour period.
Lyft
If you’d like to use Lyft, they’re offering 50 percent off rides. When you enter your ZIP code on Buzzfeed’s website here, a coupon will automatically appear in your account on Tuesday.
Uber
Uber will provide $10 off a single ride to the polls on Tuesday. The promotional code, VOTE2018, will work on the most affordable Uber option available (Express POOL, POOL, or UberX).
And if all else fails, there’s always the CTA bus or train lines. While it won’t be offering any discounts, it’s still an affordable option.
