Welcome to Friday Open Threads, where we pass the mic to readers to speak up about topics of interest, distress, horror, etc. Have something you want discussed? Let us know.
So by now, you’ve seen the tweets and heard the news. Kim Kardashian and Chicago native (obviously) Kanye West have named their third child... Chicago! The celebrity couple’s daughter, born earlier this week on January 15, will go by the shortened version of the name, Chi. That’s pronounced shy, not chee, just like the city’s nickname. Chi’s siblings include North West and Saint West.
So upon this news, are you silently screaming why, Kimye, why? Or maybe you’re just straight up puzzled. Are there any Chicagoans out there delighted by Kanye’s homage to his hometown? Will 2018 see a surge of babies named Chicago?
So tell us, how do you really feel about Chicago West? Let us know in the comments below.
