Trump Tower penthouse takes second price cut in two weeks

The posh 87th-floor home has dipped below the $10 million mark for the first time

A spacious, 6,850-square-foot penthouse on the 87th floor of Chicago’s Trump International Hotel and Tower has taken a second price cut in as many weeks. Sporting four bedrooms, five bathrooms, 16-foot ceilings, and many custom features, the posh home follows the tower’s curving shape and offers incredible skyline views from virtually every room.

The property entered the market just over one year ago for $12.7 million. It later took a relatively modest $200,000 price reduction in March followed by a $600,000 cut earlier this month. The home re-listed this week for $9.95 million, representing a price reduction of roughly $2 million. The ask also includes five parking spaces in the tower’s garage.

Ultra high-end homes do tend to take longer to sell and often initially hit the market with overly-ambitious price tags, but this particular listing must also cope with the political baggage of its namesake developer turned US President.

Any kind of stigma associated with the building is either justifiable or FAKE NEWS depending on personal perspective. That being said, the mobs of angry protestors that routinely gather outside the tower are objectively real.
