A look at the 2017 Chicago Air and Water Show

Thousands convened along Chicago’s lakefront to get a close look at this year’s show

Yet another edition of the Chicago Air and Water Show has passed, but this weekend’s weather couldn’t have been any better for the many thousands who showed up along the city’s lakefront to get a glimpse of the aerial spectacle.

And similar to previous years, the US Navy Blue Angels were the big star of this year’s show. The U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights were also another main highlight of this year’s show. The group was joined by retired Cubs catcher David Ross, who jumped out of a speeding aircraft 12,500 feet over the crowd at North Avenue Beach.

Those who own (or have access to) boats got some of the very best views in town. But of course, those living in high-rises around Streeterville and River North had pretty spectacular views as well. And as with major summer event, many folks took to social media to share their experience. Here’s a quick look at some of the very best images shared to Instagram this weekend.
