The slow-to-sell luxury home has cut its asking price by over $2 million since May of 2015

Well-heeled buyers eying this spacious duplex penthouse unit on the 80th and 81st floors of the Studio Gang-designed Aqua skyscraper in Chicago’s Lakeshore East take note: the 3,500-square-foot home has come down in price yet again. The sky-high property features an open living area, three bedrooms, three-and-half bathrooms, various custom finishes, ample headroom, twin 57-foot-long balconies, and—not surprisingly—outstanding views of the Chicago River, Lake Michigan, and surrounding downtown skyline.

The two-level home first hit the market two year ago with an ambitious $6 million price tag. As time passed, half a million bucks were shaved off the ask, bringing the price down to $5.5 million. In February, the home took another $1 million reduction down to $4.5 million. The property once again relisted this afternoon for $3.99 million.

Still seeking $1140 per square foot, the newly-reduced condo is very expensive. This is especially true given growing competition from newer, even taller buildings currently under construction such as the nearby Vista Tower.
