The enormous duplex penthouse atop Riverview East has returned after a two year break

Three Sixty Chicago

One of the most opulent and fully loaded penthouses in Chicago has returned to the market after a two-year hiatus. Located on the top two floors of the Riverview East tower in Streeterville, this 9,000-square-foot penthouse is seeking $8.99 million.

Completed in 2010, the unit is filled with exotic materials and finishes. The penthouse was designed to impressed, and the three 500-gallon fishtanks and spiraling glass and granite staircase that centers the penthouse are certainly opulent. But to push this one even more over the top, the units features its very own basketball and squash courts.

While the exotic finishes that the unit has been fitted with was certainly en vogue in the lead up to the recession, the over the top look may not be for everyone. However, this massive unit has taken an equally massive price reduction to help solicit offers. The penthouse listed in March 2015 seeking $12.99 million, but today, the price tag is a whopping $4 million lower.

One other important thing to note here is that the building is located in close proximity to the under-construction Vista Tower and the site of the abandoned Chicago Spire site. It’s tough to say how much the completed Vista Tower and the replacement for the Chicago Spire will affect the views at this penthouse, but there’s plenty of rooftop space to spread out and lounge.
