Grammy Award-winning Chicago rapper and songwriter Che “Rhymefest” Smith has recently teamed up with the Experimental Station's Blackstone Bicycle Works to produce a new song and music video promoting bicycle safety in Chicago. Titled “Stay in Your Lane,” the track features local rappers Jorge Mikell, Adarah Hale, and Rio, who each have a verse about bicycling in Chicago.
Blackstone Bicycle Works, a full-service bike shop, operates as a community engagement and education hub for Chicago South Side communities. According to Blackstone, 175 students participate in its education and mentoring programs each year.
The organization will also be participating in the Active Transportation Alliance’s Bike Commuter Challenge kickoff rally this Friday, June 16 at Daley Plaza from 7:00 a.m. to 9 a.m.
