Lincoln Park Days Inn reopens as boutique Hotel Versey

The new boutique concept features 137 rooms

Hotel Versey

The old Days Inn that anchored the busy Clark, Diversey, and Broadway intersection has been overhauled and formally reopened this week as the Hotel Versey. The new boutique concept comes from Oxford Capital Group, the same group behind other high-profile hospitality projects like the LondonHouse in the Loop and the Godfrey in River North. Featuring playful Chicago-themed finishes, the hotel is being marketed as “a hub for families, the sports oriented, the business-minded, multicultural guests from around the world, and the LGBTQ community.”

With its tag line “Stay like a local,” Oxford follows in the steps of other hotel projects that offer an “authentic” local experience to guests. Others, particularly the Kinzie Hotel and the former Hotel Burnham, riff off of Chicago’s history and feature decor and finishes that seek to provide a unique Chicago experience to guests. In the case of Hotel Versey, the lobby and rooms boast Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field imagery—which makes perfect sense considering the hotel’s proximity to the historic ballpark.

“We are delighted to introduce a new lifestyle hotel brand to the neighborhood and look forward to welcoming a diverse range of guests seeking a unique hotel experience in Lincoln Park and Lakeview,” Oxford founder, president, and CEO John Rutledge remarked in a statement.

Rooms at the new Hotel Versey start at $229. A new ground level bar and restaurant concept which will accompany the hotel is expected to open later this year.
