Top-level penthouse at The Legacy returns with another big price chop

New, 1 comment

The 72nd-level unit at The Legacy has shaved another $500K off its asking price

Jameson Sotheby's Intl Realty

One of the most premier luxury units in Chicago has returned to the market once again, but this time, the sky-high asking price has taken a considerable cut. Located on the 72nd floor of the Legacy at Millennium Park skyscraper along Michigan Avenue, the 5,000-square-foot unit offers incredible, unobstructed views of Millennium Park, River North, and Streeterville.

With dozens of new high-rises on their way to downtown Chicago at the moment, owners of units in some high-end towers have to worry about having their views blocked to some extent. However, due to Legacy’s location near Millennium Park/Grant Park, it’s pretty safe to say that the sweeping views are safe from obstruction. And that’s what you’re paying for here.

The three-bedroom, three and a half bathroom unit listed last October seeking nearly $6 million, or roughly or $1,200 per square foot. However, it returns this week asking $5.495 million. Even with the $500,000 price cut, this one is still quite pricey and the $4,300 monthly assessment and $75,000 in annual property taxes will require some deep pockets.
