Chicago Bears guard Kyle Long closed on a large 6,238-square-foot mansion in Lake Forest last month, paying $2.56 million for the home, the Tribune reports. Long, a Virginia native who played college ball in Oregon, signed a four-year extension with the Bears last September, which is expected to pay out $40 million to the three-time Pro Bowler. And similar to other professional athletes that have signed major contract extensions, Long has upgraded from a five-bedroom, nearly 4,000-square-foot home in Lake Forest to this larger mansion.
The home, built in 1990, features five bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, and a some other luxury amenities such as a theater room and a sprawling backyard with a swimming pool. The home stands over a 1.25 acre lot with nicely landscaped grounds. In addition, the mansion sports a three-car garage for Long’s rides and also boasts a heated driveway to help keep the roundabout clear of snow and ice.
