The owners of a Fulton Market food distribution business at the northeast corner of Lake and Elizabeth streets is the latest wholesaler hoping to profit from the West Loop’s real estate boom. The Bosnos family, owners of Rizes Produce and its single-story commercial building, are aiming to lease or sell the half-acre property at 201 N. Elizabeth for an undisclosed figure.
“The right buyer or lessee has the opportunity to transform this asset into a new residential, commercial, or mixed-used development that realizes the full potential of this site and capitalizes on the broader transformation of the neighborhood,” said Thomas Boyle of Transwestern, the firm acting as the property’s listing agent, via release.
While located well outside the Historic Fulton-Randolph Landmark District, the parcel is designated M2-3 Light Industry and would likely require a zoning change prior to any sort of major redevelopment. Meanwhile, Rizes Produce is currently in the process of searching for a new location.
