On the drawing board since 2012, The Sinclair apartment development is steadily approaching its 35-story final height at the corner of Clark and Division in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. While tenant move-in is still many months away, marketing efforts for the new rental tower are moving into high gear. Thanks to the recent launch of an official website, a clearer picture of The Sinclair’s unit finishes and amenities comes into focus.

Designed by local architect SCB for developer Fifield Cos., the $200 million project replaces a rundown Jewel supermarket at 1210 N. Clark Street with a new and expanded 58,000-square-foot flagship store, a new parking garage, and roughly 390 residential units ranging in size from studios to four-bedroom penthouses. While online floor plans have been made available, specific pricing has yet to be released.

Utilizing the Jewel and its parking as a base, The Sinclair will provide future renters with a generously-sized terrace featuring a pool, spa, cabanas, grilling stations, and pretty substantial dog run. Indoor amenities include a resident lounge, screening room, demonstration kitchen, and fitness center with yoga studio.

While new developments like this have become the norm in places like River North and Loop, The Sinclair is first highly-amenitized rental tower to come to the Gold Coast as part of Chicago’s most recent construction boom. According to Fifield’s website, the new tower is expected to open later this summer.
