The new project would feature 130 apartments if approved as proposed

More apartments will be coming to the southern end of Wicker Park if a developer’s plan for a new rental tower moves forward. Announced yesterday by Crain’s, with a follow up from DNAinfo, the plan calls for 130 apartments in a new 16-story building for 1624 W. Division Street, near the heart of the Polish Triangle. The plan comes from RDM Development, who filed an application with the city on the 14th. The application offers a look at the building elevations, but also provides the unit count and breakdown as well: 26 studios, 66 one-bedrooms, and 38 two-bedroom units will make up the building’s 130 units. If approved, the project will join several other dense new projects that are already on their way to cluster of North Side neighborhoods along the Blue Line.
