The Mormon Church’s first downtown Chicago place of worship at 822 N. Clark Street continues its journey forward, having obtained a full build out permit at a cost of $9,500,000. The Church of Latter Day Saints is making good on its plans to spend over $10 million to create a six-story, 39,000 s.f. building for congregational activities, meeting spaces, offices, an outdoor terrace, and four levels of off-street parking. Not a bad next life for a formerly empty lot.
