While work has already begun on the new 48-story, 444-unit rental tower at 465 N. Park Street, the building’s developers will host a formal groundbreaking ceremony next week to kick off the major construction effort. The new tower comes from developer Jupiter Realty Company, who teamed up with Chicago architects Pappageorge Haymes Partners for design duties. Initially proposed as a 45-story project, the development went through a few changes before finally ending up at 48-stories.
Expect similar amenities that we’re already seeing at the many other higher end rental towers that have been sprouting throughout the downtown area over the last few years. Highlights include a 30,000-square-foot amenity level located on the fifth floor which will offer an outdoor pool, fire pits, a fitness center, as well as a "Sky Deck" (not to be confused with the Skydeck) located on the 37th floor.
The projects joins an already busy downtown construction landscape which currently already has a few dozen high-rise projects on the way. This new tower for Streeterville is expected to be completed and ready for residents in mid 2018.
