Rustic North Center home with recycled Guinness barrel ceilings wants $1.85M

New, 9 comments

Despite being a recent construction, this roomy six-bedroom has lots of character

Appearing relatively diminutive from the curb, this surprisingly spacious 4,800-square-foot home in Chicago’s North Center neighborhood features six-bedroom, four-and-half baths, and a number of unique touches. Up front, a bright living room opens to a porch via a pair of large double doors and connects to a side den through an oversized custom-built Redwood barn door. Even more reclaimed wood is found elsewhere in the home in the form of overhead beams sourced from a vintage dairy barn and a dining room lined in planking from old Guinness beer casts. Other more modern touches like a home automation system and integrated A/V speakers. The artificial turf rear yard, however, was not included in the listing photos. The ask? $1,850,000.
