While Marcus Lemonis—star of CNBC’s The Profit—has a knack for bringing struggling businesses back to profitability, the reality personality and businessman recently took a considerably loss on the sale of his suburban Lake Forest mansion. Purchased by Lemonis in 2005 for $4.936 million, the 8,225-square-foot home took numerous price cuts starting 2011 before finally selling earlier this week for just $2.7 million.
The sprawling French Normandy-style house was built in 1931 and was extensively remodeled by the Poulton Group in 2004. It features five bedrooms, seven baths, a home theater, exercise room, sauna, and large wine cellar. Meanwhile, the structure’s previously beige stucco exterior has apparently been repainted a cooler tone of gray since it listed in 2014.
News of Lemonis’ recent Lake Forest sale was first reported by Bob Goldsboroug of the Chicago Tribune. According to Goldsboroug, the businessman and reality TV star continues to own additional property in the tony North Shore suburb.
