Transit oriented development ready to replace Western Ave. lot

The first construction permit has been issued for the five-story, mixed-use project

A shuttered used car lot in Chicago’s Lincoln Square is preparing to bite the dust and be replaced by a new five-story Transit Oriented Development (TOD) containing 40 studio and one-bedroom units, 2,200 square feet of ground floor retail space, and 10 parking spaces. Located at 4618-4620 N. Western and just feet from the Brown Line and multiple bus lines, the project was publicly presented last summer before earning the approval of 47th Ward Alderman Ameya Pawar, the Chicago Plan Commission, and full city council. Developed by JAB Real Estate and designed by Chicago architects Sullivan, Goulette & Wilson, the mixed-use project was granted a building permit earlier this week and should begin construction any moment now.
