The 31,000-square-foot Villa Taj megamansion in suburban Burr Ridge has returned to the market looking better than ever and with a price tag that will certainly cause sticker shock. The mansion, built in 2009 by Dr. Husam Aldairi in the "neo-Byzantine Moorish revival architectural style," famously listed shortly after being completed for $25 million. In 2011, a pipe in the mansion burst, causing the home to be flooded with six million gallons of water over several weeks. The home was finally sold to a bank in early 2013 for a paltry $3.1 million
However, the home has returned to the market once again. Complete with new photography highlighting the home’s custom finishes and a slew of rented exotic cars, Villa Taj has not only been polished, but it even has a new name according to the Tribune: The Palace Royale. And with eight bedrooms and nearly ten full baths, a palace it is indeed. This "royal" Jerusalem limestone-clad palace can be yours for the stately sum of $10.95 million.
