Oprah Winfrey’s former Harpo Studios facility in the West Loop has been reduced to rubble to make room for the new corporate headquarters for fast food giant McDonald’s. The demolition was an emotional one for some, including Oprah herself. Completed over 100 years ago, the building had a long history in the West Loop which has also functioned as an armory and a roller skating rink. West Loop local Moshe Tamssot, who was also around in June to capture the rescue of a bee swarm on video, swung by the Harpo Studios facility to record some of the demolition work happening on it.
