Giant, 1000-foot Slip ‘N Slides Headed to Chicago’s Montrose Beach

New, 3 comments

The temporary attraction is expected to draw 3,000 fun-seekers

While visitors to Montrose Beach may not be able to try out simulated surfing any time soon, the north side beach will host the Windy City’s first giant slip-and-slide installation on July 30th. Known for bringing its oversized water attraction to cities across North America, Utah-based company Slide the City will set up a trio of its padded 300-foot slides at Montrose’s Cricket Hill.

The event offers a variety of ticket packages ranging from an $18 two slide ticket to a $75 all-day individual pass. While admission includes inflatable tube rental, guests wishing to buy their own tube can do so for $2. To avoid clashes between sliders of different ages and levels of enthusiasm, the slides are divided into separate lanes. Slide the City will also be bringing its slides to both Carpentersville, Illinois and South Bend, Indiana on July 23rd.
