A game-changing development for the Wrigleyville area will officially break ground on Thursday, August 4. Titled Addison & Clark, the new mega-development from M&R Development and Bucksbaum Retail Properties will bring 148 new apartments, 405 parking spaces, and nearly 150,000-square-feet of commercial space next door to Wrigley Field. The developers obtained the first construction permit for the project last month, but had to complete the demolition of the existing buildings on the 2.3-acre property before breaking ground on the new development.

The SCB-designed project represents yet another milestone in Wrigleyville’s history. The ballpark itself has been witnessing a rather dramatic redevelopment over the last couple of years, which has brought changes like new digital signage and expanded bleachers. In addition, the Ricketts family has been slowly but surely buying out all of the rooftop owners—a group that proved to be a great challenge in the lead up to the Wrigley Field construction. And on top of all of the other changes happening around Wrigley, the ballpark will have a new outdoor plaza next door, which will feature programming and alcohol sales during games.
