The Trianon Lofts project is the first of its kind built in Woodlawn in many years

A new mixed-use, mixed-income development is on its way to the Woodlawn community on the city’s south side. Last week, the Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) and a group of elected representatives broke ground on the Trianon Lofts project, a development which will deliver 24 two-bedroom apartments and 7,000 square feet of ground floor retail space to the corner of 61st and Cottage Grove. The groundbreaking on the development was a particularly important moment for the Woodlawn community as POAH claims that the project is the "first predominantly market rate apartment development" to be built in the community in five decades. The project is expected to be completed by next summer.
