Replica of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House Returns Asking $1.5M

New, 1 comment

This Frank Lloyd Wright bootleg is a faithful reproduction

Living in a home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright is like living in a work of art. However, the homes he built in Chicago—many of which are over 100 years old—can be tricky to live in and are costly to maintain and update. Hence the Frank Lloyd Wright clone. There are actually quite a few around the Chicago metro area. This one in suburban Palos Park takes its inspiration from Frank Lloyd Wright’s Frederick C. Robie House in Hyde Park. It’s not an exact replica, but it is certainly an impressive one. This house is faithful not only to the Robie House’s Prairie style exterior, but it even copies the interior as well. And while it may be a bootleg of a Frank Lloyd Wright home, it’s not cheap. This one has been on and off the market since 2007 when it originally listed for well over $2 million. returns to the market with a $1.5 million price tag.
