George Maher-Designed Home in Evanston Seeks $1.175M

New, 3 comments

This traditional home comes from a Prairie School master

George Maher is an architect that is often categorized as a master of the early Prairie School, but Maher also had a flair for more traditional designs as well. A prolific architect, Maher designed many homes in the Chicago area. His homes aren’t generally as earthy as those designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, but some common elements like flat rooflines and art glass windows can be found in some. This home in Evanston is a bit more traditional in its design, but much of its interior has been updated. Originally built in 1911, this Georgian style residence is dignified and even a little dramatic. It’s brand new to the market and can be had for $1.175 million.
