New Rental Development in East Wicker Park Shows Model Unit, Begins Leasing

New, 5 comments

Monthly rent in the new building starts around $2,000 and can top $4,600

After breaking ground last spring, the new five-story mixed-use building at 1545 W. North Avenue is wrapping up work and is ready to begin leasing its 30 rental units. Situated on the eastern edge of Wicker Park and Noble Square not far from the Kennedy Expressway and the mouth of the 606 Trail, the project is one of several recent developments to bring new life to a somewhat awkward area that was previously home to a number of unsuccessful bars and auto dealership parking lots.

The all-new pet-friendly building features an elevator, green roof, and new ground floor retail space. Apartments are finished with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, and wide plank vinyl wood floors. All but two units include private outdoor space and a number of apartments offer sweeping views of downtown’s skyline. Monthly rents start at $2,050 for a single bedroom unit and max out at $4,650 for the priciest three-bedroom residences.

According to the team at Jameson Sotheby's International Realty handling leasing for the building, units on the second floor will be available on July 20th with upper levels opening in phases over the coming months. 1545 W. North Avenue was designed and built by Sedgwick Development. The local firm is working a number of Chicago projects including a second multi-family development on North Avenue located at the edge of Old Town.
