Frank Lloyd Wright’s Coonley House Returns with Lower Asking Price

Wright described the home as one of his greatest works

It’s not the first time the famous Prairie style Avery Coonley House in suburban Riverside has hit the market, and it may not be the last time—but here it is on the market once again. Built between 1908 and 1912, the large Coonley House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright is now asking $1.799 million. The house, which was one of Wright’s larger homes, was split up and divided into four separate residences in the 1950s. The estate’s bedroom wing sold last summer for only $355,000. However, there is still plenty of house left. The house’s main wing, which this listing is for, includes 6,000-square-feet of space. The estate’s grounds, which includes a reflecting pool and sunken garden, were designed by noted landscape architect Jens Jensen. Wright described the Coonley house as one of his greatest works, and in his biography stated that he put his best into designing the estate. It can be yours for under two million dollars.
