A West Loop organization is hosting a meeting to discuss a new development

McDonald’s confirmation that it will indeed be relocating its corporate headquarters to Chicago will be followed up by a community meeting that is expected to discuss the proposal for the new West Loop development. The global hamburger giant confirmed yesterday that it will be vacating its current campus in suburban Oak Brook to move to the city, and just hours later, the West Loop Community Organization announced an upcoming public meeting to discuss "a Planned Development located at 110 North Carpenter Street" in an email newsletter blast. Considering that this address lands on the Harpo Studios campus, it’s safe to say this upcoming meeting will be the public’s first look at the plan.

While details and images have still not been publicly unveiled (yet), Crain’s estimates that the new development will span over 300,000 square feet in size. The new McDonald’s headquarters will have to be large enough to fit nearly 2,000 employees, so it’s expected to occupy the entire block at 1058 W. Washington.

More details will be unveiled a week from tomorrow on Wednesday, June 22 at the Revel Fulton Market event space at 1215 W. Fulton Street starting at 6:00 p.m.
