Over this past weekend, Chicago's Navy Pier was temporarily transformed into the venue for one of the world’s premier boating events, the America’s Cup World Series. The teams participating in the America's Cup (or the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series Chicago) over the weekend raced on fresh water for the first time in the event’s 165 year history. Spectators at Navy Pier were able to get an up-close look at the world’s fastest racing yachts as teams from around the world converged on Lake Michigan to compete for a chance to race next year in Bermuda. And with Chicago’s famous skyline as the backdrop to the big race, fans took to social media to share their best images of this year’s America’s Cup World Series.
