Cubs Legend Ryne Sandberg Buys Lake Bluff Home for $1.1M

The Sandbergs are returning to the Chicago area

Legendary Cubs second baseman Ryne Sandberg and his wife Margaret have recently purchased a suburban home for $1.1 million, Crain's reports. Sandberg, who spent most of his playing career with the Cubs, recently returned to the team as its ambassador — a role that will have Sandberg representing the Cubs organization at conventions and corporate outings. Sandberg, who had most recently been living in the Phoenix area, tells Crain's that he has grandchildren in Lake Bluff.

Located in the Shore Acres Country Club community, the four-bedroom house was built in 2005 and stands on a four-acre lot. Sandberg and his wife purchased the house for nearly $90,000 less than the asking price.
