A local developer is eyeing a short stretch of vacant storefronts on Irving Park Road for redevelopment and has announced plans to build a five-story residential project at the site. According to the zoning application, developer Dave Gassman is looking to construct a 28-unit transit-oriented development at 927-929 W. Irving Park Road, on the border of Lakeview and Uptown. The plan includes no retail space, but would have parking for 14 vehicles. Residents in the area have started receiving notices in the mail about the proposal, which was filed with the city earlier this month.
