A behemoth stone-clad home on Lincoln Park’s famous Burling Street is expected to list tomorrow for $50 million, according to veteran real estate reporter Dennis Rodkin of Crain’s. The price would certainly crush all prior records for an initial asking price in the Chicago area. While certainly of grand stature, the hulking home was built less than ten years ago by Richard and Michaela Parrillo—the former being the chairman and CEO of United Automobile Insurance (not to be confused with the Chicago-based United Auto Insurance).

Built on seven city lots, the listing agent for the Parrillos tells Rodkin that the family has invested a whopping $65 million into the 25,000-square-foot home. Details include a winding grand staircase, marble floors, and a motor court filled with gravel imported from France. The listing agent working with the Parrillos tell Crain’s that the family have been spending more time in Florida and are ready to allow “another family to have this home."
