After months of waiting, demolition work is finally underway on the Mega Mall indoor market in the heart of Logan Square. The long building, which stretches from Sacramento Avenue nearly all the way down to Logan Boulevard on Milwaukee Avenue, is being demolished to make room for the planned Logan’s Crossing development which will deliver 240 apartments and nearly 115,000 square feet of commercial space. Retail anchors are expected to be Jewel-Osco, Xsport Fitness, and Starbucks. Demo crews are already making quick work of the former indoor flea market space. Expect to see it transformed into a pile of rubble in the coming days.
