Which activities help you get through Chicago’s winter?

It’s not gotten cold in Chicago yet, but it’s coming

It’s been unseasonably warm in Chicago for the last few weeks, but reports are suggesting that it’s going to be a cold and snowy one. Of course, everyone who has lived here for more than a few years knows that it doesn’t get really cold until January. With that said, it might be a good idea to bust out the boots, get the coat dry cleaned, and stock up on sidewalk salt (if you’re a property owner).

But beyond clothing and tangible items, it’s important to keep the mind occupied with events and hobbies. Sure, Chicagoans are known to keep warm by filling up on comfort food and alcohol, but what else is there to do? Joining a gym is a good way to stay active and fight off the winter blues, but there is also winter bike commuting. Okay, bicycle commuting during the winter months isn’t going to be for everyone, but there are plenty of other ways to keep the brain and body stimulated during the winter.

Which activities or hobbies do you plan on participating in to help you get through the winter months?
