Booming Fulton Market Area to Get One More Hotel Project

New, 21 comments

Developer Jeff Shapack of Shapack Partners is looking to move forward with a new hotel plan after having presented the proposal to Fulton Market residents last night. The plan seeks to plant an 11-story hotel at 200 N. Green Street, next door to Shapack's recently completed WeWork coworking project. The project would feature roughly 170 rooms, 1,200-square-feet of retail and two floors of office space. According to Shapack, the first floor will feature a restaurant space while the building's roof will sport an indoor/outdoor space and a rooftop pool. New York's Morris Adjmi is leading the design duties while GREC Architects has been tapped as the architect of record. A hotel partner has not yet been announced. Shapack, who developed the neighborhood's Soho House hotel and private club, is no stranger to hospitality. "We're trying to fill in these spaces that we believe could benefit from density," Shapack tells us, "And we think that hospitality is one of these uses that can contribute to the area." If all goes according to plan, construction could begin later this year, with a target completion target of early 2018.
