$17M Gold Coast Mansion is Chicago's Second Priciest Listing

New, 7 comments

A historic 12,000-square-foot Gold Coast mansion along Lake Shore Drive has just hit market with an asking price of $17 million, becoming the second most expensive residential property in Chicago. A week ago, Dennis Rodkin of Crain's had hinted that the limestone mansion that currently houses the International College of Surgeons would be entering the market and today it has formally hit the MLS. The landmark mansion would have become Chicago's priciest, however an offer on the enormous 1955 N. Burling Street estate recently fell through and the Lincoln Park mansion has been activated with its same $18.75 million asking price and has reclaimed the title of being Chicago's most expensive house. The ornate Lake Shore Drive mansion has ten bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, but will need some work according to the listing agent.
