Tower Near Former Cabrini-Green Site Returns With Changes

New, 16 comments

Another residential tower is looking to join the slew of new projects surrounding the former Cabrini-Green site. Planned for 460 W. Chicago Avenue, the tower has gone through a number of revisions in recent months and has a new name and new renderings, the Chicago Architecture Blog reports. Now dubbed Cleveland + Chicago Residential, the proposal was previously slated to meet with the Chicago Plan Commission several months ago, but it has returned with some slight tweaks. The biggest changes are in height and unit count, going from 27 stories down to 23, and from 260 residences to 200. There will also be some ground floor retail space and and 186 parking stalls.

VOA Associates is leading the design duties for the project, which is looking to join several other new towers closing in on the former Cabrini-Green site. Will the updated proposal finally end up at City Council for approval? It might. The Chicago Architecture Blog has more images of the building, including elevations and floor plans.
