At $3.5M, This New Five Bedroom Mansion is the Priciest Listing in Bucktown

New, 20 comments

Three and a half million dollars can you get a lot of home in any neighborhood or suburb of Chicago, and it can also get you this brand new construction in Bucktown. The neighborhood has a lot of newer homes, with many that have a contemporary feel and design. The 7,000 square foot brick and limestone mansion sits on a large lot and sports five bedrooms and six bathrooms. The rooms are spacious and decked out with high-end finishes and outside is a deck area with a fireplace. But even with all of its girth and newness, $3.5 million is an ambitious asking price for the neighborhood. Perhaps if the mansion was architect-designed or had something unique about it, there could be some way to justify the price, but as is, it may be spending some time on the market. The house looks perfect for a professional athlete, but it's not too common for football or basketball to buy outside of downtown or the suburbs.
